San Rafael NP, March 2010. Taken on same site within 10 mins of each other, both are resting on African Grass. I'm not sure if they are the same individual or even same species. I know this might be a tricky one, but any suggestions would be great!

Thanks,
Alison

Hola Alison: The one on the left is Panoquina evansi. The one on the right is not the same species. Right now I do not know what this one is. Saludos Ricardo

Hola Alison: I still do not know what the second one is. Note the three small spots along the leading edge of the forewing. Several species have these spots. Note also the apical spots. Unfortunately since one cannot see the ventral side, especiall the hindwing it doesnt give much to go on. I wish you had a couple more shots of this one. Again, for now, I cant ID it for you. Maybe someone else can...Sorry. Saludos Ricardo

Cheers Ricardo! I thought the pale line on the first one was just the light, but knowing what it is now I can see it is part of the pattern. Unfortunately the second one was quite far away and didn't stick around for another photo.
