Hello to all,

Thought I might introduce myself. My name is Scarabaeoid, and as you might guess with such a name, my main interest is scarab beetles in the broadest sense. I've been living in Suriname for the last seven years and am presently trying to inventory the scarab beetles of this country. While looking for those beeetles I also see lots of other beasties (especially on my light trapping installation). I make photos of as many critters as I can (not limited to invertebrates), and then try to find their scientific names. I hope people here will be able to help me with identifying difficult butterflies, while in return I might be of use by assisting in the identification of some other taxa. Logically, my main strength lies in the fauna of the Guianas.

Best regards,

Scarabaeoid

Welcome to the forum, Scarabaeoid. You must see lots of cool bugs where you are. I don't know anything about beetles, but if you get some good butterfly photos, hopefully someone on the forum can help you out.
Thanks for joining,
k

Thanks for the welcome Kim!

I sure see loads of interesting stuff around here but have mostly neglected the butterflies. They're cool for sure but, like birds, they usually take of when I focus on them...

If you happen to take pics of anything else than butterflies (which you should! ;-) ), I'm happy to help IDing it.

I just did put some photos of Hesperiidae on the forum with ID requests.

Cheers,

Scarabaeoid
