Hi butterfly friends!

Does anybody have some information about separating Hamadryas arinome from Hamadryas amphinome (mexicana) from the dorsal view?
Geographical ranges are not very helpful since sometimes there are similar or not very reliable. Which one is more common in the corresponding region (Central vs. South America)?

I thought that a bigger white spot about in the middle of the apex of the forewing is a decisive criteria, but this seems not be the case.

Thanks for your appreciated help!
Cheers

Hi Dominik,

Have to admit, I'm lazy and just try to see the ventrals. That's the surest way for me.
Sorry not to be more help,

Thanks Kim. I know you should have the ventral view. Let's just say you do not have the ventral, aren't there really any hints to follow, 100% reliable or not?

Sorry, it's sort of a feel, and I always get a look at the ventral to confirm. I've never worked on id'ing them from just a dorsal shot.
